Liverpool have always finished in the top half of the league every season, with their worst finish being the 1993-94, 2011-12, and 2015-16 seasons, when they finished eighth. They have put in consistently good performances in the league, finishing in the Champions League spots in 19 out of the 30 seasons so far. Liverpool's most successful manager in the league, Jurgen Klopp, joined the club as manager in October of 2015. He has overseen the overhaul of the club with some smart signings over the next couple of years that saw Liverpool win the Premier League title for the first and only time in the 2019-20 season.

Liverpool's least points tally was in the 2011-12 season, where they scored 52 points. The highest number of points was in their title winning 2019-20 season, where they had 99 points. Liverpool have had three of their highest points tallies since the time Jurgen Klopp took over as manager of the club. The club also scored 97 and 92 points in the 2018-19 and 2021-22 seasons respectively. The club came a close second to Manchester City on both occasions, losing the title by only 1 point in both seasons.

Liverpool registered their least number of wins in a Premier League season in the 2011-12 season, during which they won 14 matches. Their highest number of wins in a single season was in their title winning 2019-20 season, where they won 32 matches.

Liverpool registered their highest number of losses in the Premier League in the 1993-94 season, where they lost 16 matches. The arrival of Jurgen Klopp has seen the team tighten the defense and lose fewer games every season, except in the 2020-21 season, during which a defensive crisis saw a majority of their first team defenders out for major parts of the season. Liverpool famously came second by only 1 point in the 2018-19 season and in the 2021-22 seasons that saw them come second in the league despite losing only one game in the entire season.

Liverpool scored 101 goals in the 2013-14 season, during which Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge contributed 52 goals together. The sale of Suarez to Barcelona the next season saw a drastic fall in the number of goals scored by the club, with the goal tally almost halving. Klopp's appointment has see am increase in the number of goals scored each season, save for the 2020-21 season, during which the injury crisis in the defensive ranks at the club saw the attackers output also reduced. The 2021-22 season saw Liverpool score 94 goals, which is their second highest tally in a single season.

The overhaul of the defense at the club since Klopp's arrival has seen a reduction in the number of goals conceded by the club. It is also notable that the club was conceding fewer goals under the management of Rafael Benitez between 2004 and 2010. They conceded an average of less than a goal per match during Benitez's tenure in all but his first season at the club. The 2013-14 season, which saw Liverpool score the highest number of goals in all seasons, also saw them concede 50 goals, which is their third highest in their history.

Liverpool have had a positive goal difference in every season in the Premier League. Their lowest goal difference was 4, which happened twice, once in the 1993-94 season, and another time in the 2014-15 season. The club's top three highest goal differences were under the management of Jurgen Klopp. The 2021-22 season saw the club's highest goal difference of 68 in all seasons. The 2013-14 season that saw Liverpool score their highest number of goals in a single season with 101, also saw the club concede 50 goals, which is their fourth highest goal difference in all seasons.
