Following the look at Liverpool's performances in the Premier League, we now look at their cross town rivals, Everton's performances during their time in the Premier League. Everton are one of the six teams to never have been relegated from the Premier League. Their performances however have been inconsistent during this time and they have come close to relegation multiple times.
Ranking in each season
Everton are one of two teams to have never won the league despite never being relegated during the Premier League era. They finished outside of the top ten in 15 out of 30 seasons, and finished 17th, just outside the relegation zone, in three seasons. Their best finish was fourth, in the 2004-05 season. Their longest serving manager, David Moyes, who joined the club towards the end of the 2001-02 season, oversaw the best performances of the club in the league, where he finished 9 times in the top half. Everton would finish in the top half only 4 other times in the league under other managers.
The 39 points that Everton managed last season was their joint lowest during their time in the Premier League, with a similar tally .the club managed in the 2003-04 season. Their highest points tally came in the first season after Moyes's move to Manchester United, during which they scored 72 points. Everton scored more than 60 points in a season 8 times, and David Moyes was the manager in 5 of those seasons.

The least number of goals scored by Everton was 34 in the 2005-06 season. They have scored at least 40 goals in each of their seasons.

Everton conceded the most number of goals in their history in the 2021-22 season. The only other time they conceded more than 60 goals in a season was in the 1993-94 season, when they conceded 63. The three seasons between 2006-07 and 2008-09 were their best defensive seasons, where they conceded less than 40 goals in each of those seasons.
