Previewing each team before the start of the Premier League season

Arsenal The runners-up from last season have strengthened in the transfer window by buying Declan Rice for a club record  £ 116.60 million, and also by buying Kai Havertz,  Jurrien Timber, and David Raya to their ranks. While Kai Havertz hasn't exactly lit up the league while at Chelsea, David Raya is a proven goalkeeper in the league with Brentford for the past 2 seasons, and Timber is one of the most highly rated center backs in the world. There do not seen to be any weaknesses in the squad, and do expect Arsenal to mount a challenge to the premier league title again this season. Aston Villa Aston Villa have arguably had the best transfer window of all premier league teams. They have added one of the best defenders in the La Liga for the past 3 seasons, Pau Torres, along with the best right winger in the Bundesliga, Moussa Diaby. Youri Tielemans adds a lot of strength and steel to the midfield, and with Unai Emery at the helm, don't be surprised to see Aston Villa mount a cha

Gameweek 7 Bundesliga matches

Mainz - Hertha Berlin [1 - 1] Mainz bossed the game with 57% possession, but could manage only 2 shots on target, the same as Hertha managed with lesser possession. Hertha scored first in the 30th minute, with Mainz managing to equalize in the 94th minute. Augsburg - Bayern Munich [1 - 0] Bayern completely dominated possession, retaining the ball 77% of the time, but had little end product, having only 6 shots on target, with Augsburg managing 4 shots. Bayern ran into an in-form Rafal Gikiewicz, who saved 6 shots without conceding any goals. The loss was Bayern's first of the season, and it also means that they have gone 4 games in row without a win. They drop to fifth in the table. Borussia Dortmund - Schalke 04 [1 - 0] Easy win for Dortmund, who dominated possession by holding on to the ball 67% of the time. Gameweek 7 Premier League matches

Aston Villa - Southampton [1 - 0] Villa's second win of the season sees them join Southampton with 7 points from 7 games. Nottingham Forest - Fulham [2 - 3] Battle of the newly promoted teams saw a Fulham win, that sees them move to sixth in the table, ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool (whose game against each other did not take place over the weekend). Fulham were the dominant team in the match retaining 60% of the possession and having 7 shots on target to Forests' 3. Forest are 19th in the table with 1 win from 7 games. Wolverhampton Wanderers - Manchester City [0 - 3] Man City bossed the game with 60% possession and 7 shots on target to Wolves' solitary attempt. The home team were hampered by a red card to Nathan Collins in the 30th minute. The offence was a Nigel de Jong type karate kick to Xabi Alonso in the 2010 World Cup final, except that the referee made the right call and sent off the aggressor. Following the look at Liverpool's performances in the Premier League , we now look at their cross town rivals, Everton's performances during their time in the Premier League. Everton are one of the six teams to never have been relegated from the Premier League. Their performances however have been inconsistent during this time and they have come close to relegation multiple times. Ranking in each season Ranking of Everton in every Premier League season Everton are one of two teams to have never won the league despite never being relegated during the Premier League era. Liverpool are one of the six teams to never have been relegated from the Premier League. They are one of the top teams in the league and enjoy a huge amount of support worldwide. Ranking in each season Ranking of Liverpool in every Premier League season Liverpool have always finished in the top half of the league every season, with their worst finish being the 1993-94, 2011-12, and 2015-16 seasons, when they finished eighth. They have put in consistently good performances in the league, finishing in the Champions League spots in 19 out of the 30 seasons so far. Liverpool's most successful manager in the league, Jurgen Klopp, joined the club as manager in October of 2015. He has overseen the overhaul of the club with some smart signings over the next couple of years that saw Liverpool win the Premier League title for the first and only time in the 2019-20 season. Chelsea are one of the six teams to have never been relegated from the Premier League since its inception in 1992-93 season. They are one of the top 6 teams and have always finished in the top 6 since the 1996-97 season, except for the 2015-16 season. Ranking in each season Ranking of Chelsea in every Premier League season Chelsea have won the title 5 times, with all their titles being clinched since the takeover of the club by  Roman Abramovich in 2003. Their worst league finish was 14 in the 1993-94 season, and they finished 11th thrice in the 1992-93, 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons. Since the takeover of the club by Roman, they finished only once outside of the top 6, in the 2015-16 season, which also is their worst finish in the league since the buy out. With the start of the Premier League just 4 weeks away, it is an opportunity to look at how some of the teams have performed since its inception. We begin with Arsenal, with similar analysis coming through over the next few weeks for other teams. Arsenal are one of the six teams to have never been relegated in the thirty year history of the Premier League. They have had only 6 managers in this time, with Arsene Wenger managing them for 22 seasons. The current manager, Mikel Arteta, is set to become the second longest serving manager of the team in the Premier League, with him all set to begin his third season with the club.
